About Small Ego Art

As Ben transitioned from high school to “what is life after high school”, we struggled. Not only did he graduate during a pandemic, but we were not quite sure what his life journey from this point on was going to look like for him. We moved into virtual art classes, helping at a restaurant, volunteering and helping at a cotton candy shop. He started doing digital art and also continued to do physical art. He told me, “I really like doing art”. Yes!! And so this began!

From there, he explored all different kinds of art. Ben immediately gravitated to certain types of styles of art and continues to learn and research many other ways he can create. When we talked about a name for this business we talked all about his art. I asked him how he felt after he was done with an art piece and he said, “Proud. But you know that I have a small ego.”. That is where we came up with the name. Ben does truly have a small ego and a lot of praise makes him feel uncomfortable. We are so excited to see what this journey looks like and hope it is a lifelong fulfilling passion for him and also supports him, while giving back to help others.

Giving Back with Small Ego Art

In 2012, Ben’s parents, John & Traci Schneider, started a non-profit called Ben’s Fund. Ben’s Fund was created to help children and young adults with autism reach their full potential through financial aid, support and hope. Over 2,620 grants have been awarded so far supporting families with over $2,329,166 to support camps, technology, therapy, equipment, services, security and safety support. Small Ego Art will support Ben’s Fund with a portion of profits. Ben’s Fund started because of Ben and now he can contribute to support the non-profit. How amazing!!
